Frontline Fantasy is a real-time strategy role-playing game that has you building units, upgrading your battle prowess, using items, and more. Explore the 2D environment and make it around the map to open up different missions. Units and battles are the main focus of the game. Customize your builds with the units you like.
Build up your frontline and prepare for the epic boss fights.

What We Accomplished This Month
1. Moved to a New Graphics Library
The download size of the original proof of concept was huge because the previous graphics library bundled a browser and a bunch of dependencies. Therefore, we stripped out the previous graphics library and implemented SDL2. SDL2 should cover everything we need for this game including graphics and sound.
2. Created Tutorial and First battle "Defend the Wall"
Completed everything up to and including the boss fight for "Defending the Wall"
Three different units
Three different enemies
2 Different maps to fight on
The World map for choosing battles and extended missions
Start screen and Settings screen with music controls
3. Art style was decided
not implemented yet so bought assets are still being used.
4. Submitted to Pixel Pitch!
Big accomplishment and learning experience
What We Missed This Month
Though a lot for a vertical slice has been completed, there are still a few major systems that need to be added.
Potion System
Shop
Loading Saved Game
Remaining art for the vertical slice
Goals for March 2024
Complete necessary systems for a vertical slice
Estimate time necessary to implement art style:
Complete "Teaser" trailer
Launch Demo/Vertical Slice
Complete mini-games
Complete the Mountain zone
Why did we not accomplish everything we planned?
Making excuses is not useful, but it is useful to look at a situation to find improvements and reduce bottlenecks.
Creating the necessary items to submit to Pixel Pitch took time. Submitting to a publisher in February was not planned
Deciding to start creating a blog and (X) account. To come up with a process for posting and blogging was not planned and took more time than originally anticipated.
Resolutions
Pixel Pitch has already been submitted, so unless there is a follow-up, this is complete
Created workflows for blogs and X (Twitter) that will continue to be used for this month to focus on development
Conclusion
February was a great month and a lot of things were accomplished. Though we haven't completed the vertical slice, it should not take long to implement by the end of this month with even more polish. Having a demo/vertical slice for playtesting is a top priority. The systems we put in place should carry us until next month and next month we can reevaluate according to the results.
